LWFF broken??? Please help,

by Domagoj Malovi » Sun, 22 Aug 1999 04:00:00

Hi!

I just got my lwff, and when I plug it into the wall, the
wheel will center, but not to 12 o'clock but to 11 o'clock.
When windows boots up, the software detects it, and than it
will swing it left and right, and the wheel will come back
to a proper center, 12 o'clock. It than begaves ok in both
FF and non FF games, but when I shut down windows, it will
again "center" to 11 o'clock. Is there something wrong with
it, or is this normal behaviour.

Please help me so I know whether it needs to be replaced.

Thanks

Domagoj

Seems like nothing is realy wrong. I've got the same behaviour over here. As
long as it calibrates itself properly during boot time I wouldn't worry at
all

Hello Domagoi
I have had my LWFF for about a month.  The 11 o'clock problem you discribe
is "apparently" a problem with the earlier drivers.   Be sure to d/l the
lastes driver - 3.25 from within the Profiler setup program. (It doesn't
show at the Web Page.)  Mine works great and sits at 12 o'clock.  The torque
force setting is very personal taste,  I have a setting = 100.  Good luck

Jerry

nope, this is no problem. the centering w/ the FF-version of the wheel
is done by the FF-motors inside. in order to know where the center is,
the wheel needs to be calibrated 1st (by the auto-calibration at startup
e.g.).

nah - no need for that! ;-)
