LWFF Broken?

LWFF Broken?

by Dino » Thu, 06 Jul 2000 04:00:00

I've had the wheel for 3 mo. and have had no problems until yesterday when
the wheel lost it's centering calibration to the left by about 1/4 of a
turn, while in calibration screen it does not reach max left and goes beyond
max right. a few other strange occurences...while system is shut down the
wheel will intermittently move back and forth and with system on just the
least little pressure placed in either direction results in the wheel moving
from lock to lock which I have to forcibly stop.

This is what I've tried so far...
Reinstalled the wheel (USB) and software (3.30).
Run the calibration utility from Logi site.
Searched Wingman board and deja for similar problems with no luck.
My system is Win 98 using DX7a.

TIA

Sounds broke all right, hope it's still in warranty.  Mine's never done that
in 9 months so far.

yesterday....
all my troubles seemed so far away.....

LWFF Broken?

Did you exchange all the parts, cables included? It may be a broken wire, or
some conector not properly seated. Disconnect and reconnect all the cables, then
remove all joystick devices and reinstall them. Also,if your LWFF is like mine,
it has the possibility of connecting through USB or serial port. Try it both
ways.
I`ve only had problems convincing my LWFF to co-exist with my Microsoft FF
joystick. Should have worked, as the LWFF is USB and the joystick uses the
joystick port, but I have never managed to make them both work without changing
anything. I gave up, and now I remove the LWFF and install the joystick (for
Combat Flight Simulator), and then remove it and install the LWFF (nearly all
the time...this GPL ***ion keeps getting me in trouble...).
 Hope this helps

LWFF Broken?

Your steering pot broke loose. Could be that it slipped partly out of its seat,
and is only randomly guided by the "D-joint"
Return the wheel. If not possible, open the cover and check out how the pot
sits. Should be visible without any further disassembly

Hope this helps

Jens
