ATI W98 D3D Nascar 2002 Problem?

by Douglas Cowa » Tue, 14 May 2002 09:25:47

Just started using the most recent 9031 drivers from ATI for my AIW Radeon.
Unfortunately the game crashes very soon after entering the 3d mode when
switched in D3D. I moved to OGL and everything is fine. But smoke looks
incredibly ugly...I want D3D back. Anyone got a solution (besides going back
to the old drivers).

I've let ATI know about the problem. I suppose I can put up with dodgy smoke
for a while, hopefully they can fix it in the next release. I need to use
these newer drivers, since all video-related stuff was utterly dreadful in
the previous release...else I would go back to the old ones.

saw this in another newsgroup. I run a Nvidia card so I have no personal
knowledge, but it was fro the same square smoke problem.

MadDAWG.

Try this one.

It is the same beta version but for Win 98.  BTW, I take it you are running
it
in Open GL.
