ICR2 bug they did not fix

by Tero Turtiain » Thu, 18 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I patched my ICR2 yesterday and immediately noticed one bug they did not fix.
The annoying "flickering rev-meter" bug. Is there nobody else who has this same
problem, because it seems to be pretty basic bug? I guess this has something
to do with the display card, mine is CL5430.

And if only my 486/66 could run GP2... :(

Yes, I think so. My old system had a CL5430 (or was it 5428) and it had the
"flickering rev-meter" bug. With my matrox there is no problem.

From what I remember, the flickering rev-meter is a result of an
installed Univbe driver (the one that came with ICR2) while running in
VGA. Just uninstall the drivers and it'll work fine.

I'm REALLY looking forward to GP2 now after this ICR2 patch fiasco.
Wondering how my 486DX4/120 will handle it...

Same problem experienced with both PCI S3 Trio 764 & S3 Trio 765 (V+),
WD Paradise VL Plus. Software problem.

As someone stated before in this newsgroup, forgotten his name but
"remove the univbe driver to stop the flicker"
