Having only installed v0.5.0 and now getting v0.5.2, can it be installed
over top of my existing version or do I need to do some cut and pasting of
cars and tracks?? And another thing while I have you here....I have a Cuda
and a VR6 Jetta that do nothing when loaded into the game...they do a one
second idle then sit there....the game is NOT frozen, I can shift and see
the indicator do it's thing ....... any ideas??

Okay.....I backed up my previous install and installed the new
version......the cars I added in are all mucky now. They look like they have
driven through some mud puddles.........and after trying to drive
them.......and back in the select screen, they are void of any colour almost
entirely. I didn't have this trouble in the v0.5.0.        Ruud, any ideas
??

Hm, sounds like a shader engine issue.
Do you have a link to the Cuda and/or VR6 so I could download them and
have a look? (or you could mail me them).

I have the same issue, the cars in question have NO shader file...

I added a shader file Mitch/Luis hackde up for me a while back, which fixes
the problem, but displays those Front/Back/Top etc images :)

I see the problem with the 'Nissan Silvia 14' as well. I'll look into
it. Funny how it even CAN get greyish.

<a little later>

I see it's a problem with reflection map emulation in the new graphics
engine. Taking out the reflection bit gives a normal picture. I'll see
what's wrong with the shader that's created for these types of
materials. Looks like the only things is the spherical mapping of the
reflection map (it is mapped right on top).

Sorry for not responding sooner. I figured that problem out......with
the new version I was able to utilize a button for the starter. I didn't
realize this was a feature in the previous release....they still have no
colour.....but they both work now. I sent a PM to you outlining other
problems I am experiencing as well. Let me know here if you got it or
not......if not, I can send them again. Thanks for such an excellent sim.

I've found & fixed the color problem by now. Something with alpha
functions.

A PM on the forum? Actually I never read those; I must turn them off I
guess. Please mail me them directly or add them to the forums bug
thread.

You're welcome. :)

The PM I sent was a reply to the address that is your mass mailing list
for Racer updates and whatnot.....it is the only one I had. My biggest
concerns were the colour washing out and the lack of sound for the add-on
cars I have. Do I have to redownload the new beta version for the
fix......or is it posted somewhere other than your site ??    Thanks
Ruud..........with customer service like this, who wants to buy production
games?!?

Ah, no idea where that goes actually. It's not something that gets to
me. Hm.
Try my "Reply to:" address here with the necessary spam killing
adjustments next time.

If you have beta3 (12Mb) then you can the files in the patch file
(400Kb) on top.

Hehe, thanks, but these are relatively simple problems fortunately. A
remark saying 'the AI drives off the road' isn't as easy to fix. ;-)
