To all readers:

The above messages are totally bogus. There is no truth to what you
read. Actually here's what the same person posted today:

-------QUOTE--------
Firstly, I must say I am sorry.

I am not and never will be the real Geoff Crammond,
I wish I was.

The mails I sent were for two reasons, firstly to make
the real SH and MPS open their eyes to what is
happening, it is obvious they don't give a damn as we
have been waiting so long for GP2, they would only have
to read what is on this message board to get a feel for
what is happening, they don't seem to appreciate that it
is us who made them get to where they are now.

Okay it was a bit far fetched but maybe they are in
financial difficulties, after all they don't seem to
be able to afford to tell anyone what is going on, the
amount of times over the past year I have telephoned
MPS and tried to even get a hint of the real date out
of them, by God, even the receptionist knows who I am,
I have even tried getting hold of the real Crammond but
as far as they are concerned he doesn't exist.

That is my reason against MPS, they are good guys and
get good money for doing what they do.

---------UNQUOTE----------

Grand Prix II is still in development and will be out when it is
ready. Please don't ask me for a release date because I don't have one
right now. As soon as I get more information, I will post it here now
that I have this newsgroup marked in my reader. Thanks for your
patience!

Gabriel, with all of the *flak* flying around in this newsgroup, you
might consider changing your e-mail *name* from JOKER to something we
can believe in (rather than a GP2 release date).  It's just a
suggestion...

Anyway, if it's true, we'll keep waiting patiently.

The following is a load of Bull Shit.  Geoff Crammond does not work for
or represent Microprose, so he would not be posting on their Bulletin
Board or be representing or announcing their decisions in any way.  Good
try!!!

Hi Gabriel,

I take it then that this message(s) could have been posted by a
disgruntled ex-employee!!.

If everything is rosey as you suggest, can you explain why a number of
staff have been made redundant in the UK (re Compuserve Postings), and
that some offices in the US have closed down (re this newsgroup.)

Sorry for sounding suspicious but with an email name of "Joker SH/MPS"
I just want to be sure!!

TIA

Ian.

says...

Perhaps, but, then again he *did* get Microprose/Spectrum Holobyte to at
least say *something* sort of useful.  Which in itself is a major
accomplishment.

Well, actually it's true. Geoff Crammond did have a serious back injury when
he tried to run over Flavio B. in the pit lane at the last grand prix.
This happend when he was driving a borrowed Williams car. What can I say, he
wants it to be absolutly realistic and he'll do anything to achieve it.

But don't worry the game will arive this spring.

Fair enough, but I'd like an explanation of why the game was reviewed in
at least two UK magazines if it's "still in development".

Has the once-great Future Publishing's impartiality and credibility seem
to have evaporated with its recent change of ownership?

It's about time the videogame industry grew up and software houses
accept that even they publish ***games from time to time. (Ever tried
taking back a really awful game? "No sir! You're bound to have copied
it! Have a replacement... of the same game." One day someone'll realise
if you make a quality game you'll sell *more* of them.)

If a magazine is "official" (eg. "The Official PlayStation Magazine") we
know it's full of marketing B.S.

But I'd have hoped a mature PC title would be fairly impartial.

At least PC Format can keep its head held high for not yet reviewing an
unfinished GP2. But when it does, read with a pinch of salt.

It's probably just another April fools joke.
While on the subject of April fools jokes :)
One year I was driving to work and passed the local Air Force base and
saw a black shape on the runway. After looking a bit harder I see that
it's a Stealth bomber. Lots of cars had pulled to the side of the
highway for a look. My eyes popped outta my head because it's not
every day you see a Stealth in Australia. In fact there's never been
one here. It was on the news later that night and it turned out to be
a RAAF car with a cardboard cutting shaped as a Stealth sitting over
the top of it. Top April fools joke on the Air Force's behalf :)
They even had security gards and dogs patroling the fence, which is
rare since our Air Force bases have nothing of value really :)

We don't know any more now than we did before, except that there's
some impatient kid out there who's such a jerk he thinks nothing of
maligning other people's good names and work.

An explanation is not necessary because the very people who control
the content of these magazines are so full of shit that any
explanation would reflect their very nature decribed above hence
it will be futile.
As far as I know there is only one good PC game's
magazine and that's an American magazine called PC *** World.
But even that magazine is somewhat infantile.

It seems that most of the mags are bought and paid for.
I only buy PC *** World from time to time, maybe twice a year.

The net is the best place to get the truth about the very games/sims
you are interested in.(Does not include the homepages of the mediocre
*** mags.)
