Hello!

If I want to change (edit) some of the AI drivers' vehicles, which
parameter(s) (*.hdv files?) should I edit and how much?

I am looking for a more evenly matched seasons with more teams than just
Ferrari/McLaren to win races....

the three biggest items in the hdv file you can change are the overall
mass.  The aero drag and the engine.  you could, for example, give the
Ferrari or BMW engines to Team Minardi.

There are some leagues that use a fixed .hdv file - I suggest that you make
copies of your favourite car (EG ferrari.hdv) and rename it to Jordan.hdv,
minardi.hdv etc so all teams have the same parameters.
