F1 Challenge 99-02 Interview and Guide

by murchma » Fri, 20 Jun 2003 04:49:04

We have just posted an exclusive interview with the makers of F1C 99-02 at
VF1 as well as a multiplayer guide for when the game is released next week.

http://www.racesimcentral.net/%206-03.htm

Hopefully it will help answers some questions about the game.

Thanks Jeff, Some interesting stuff in there, can't wait to get my hands on
it.  10 player multi on ADSL is definitely heading in the right direction
:).

All the best,
Ash

Yes it's about time we had a modern F1 game that can do some serious online
grids.

I dare not hold my breath - we've heard the netcode has improved before -
and it's basically, still crud

Oh, please!  What a silly comment.....

All the (high profile) beta testers are liars/idiots, are they?

I just got 'round to reading the interview, which is very comprehensive in
describing the changes & improvements in F1C over its predecessors (F12Kx).

In addition to the many changes in the F1 game, the underlying code will be
a major boost for modders wanting to make new cars, classes, and tracks for
the game.

Many thanks to Jeff Murchison for publishing this info (and to ISI for their
above-and-beyond dedication to making the game all it can be).

Sounds good, but will it support my MS FF Gameport wheel in split
axis without tinkering with stupid secondary programs, and will it be
possilbe to set a complete full linear steering without second
guessing, and having to work with a ton of useless sensivity settings
?

:)

We've heard it all before, with 2kCS, 2k1, and 2k2

I'm not expecting anything special from the newest effort

If it suprises me- thats great. But I'm not expecting much

That's rubbish and you know it.  There was very little pre-release info for
those games.

True.  Racing Legends is THE one I'm waiting for.  I hear there's going to
be an update on their web site any day now.

Even if it *is* brilliant, I doubt you'll notice.
