I am interested in running a GPL server for all you avid GPL racers out
there.  Most likely, my machine would be the host with me not racing on the
machine.   You know, to make your guys racing that much better!

I am on a cable modem, and it seems to work quite well.  However, I do not
know how to get my system setup so that when a race is over, the game cycles
to another track.  Can someone drop me an e-mail to let me know how to set
that up so that my server will keep the races running all day and night?

Thanks all.

I'de wish I knew, but I don't think it's possible without remaking a new exe
file to the game to comply with your want.

Wow- the world needs more of you. Thanks for taking the trouble to try
to figure out how.

There was at least one other very generous fellow I've seen who
consistently left his computer on as a server even when he was not
racing- but I don't know if he was coming back to the server to cycle
through the tracks, or it it was automatic. I asked him once why we
were racing at some particular track again, and I think he said that
it cycles automatically and asked if we wanted a different one.

But I don't know how this was happening. Perhaps Eagle Woman (A. Hine)
would know?

Funny how in the Quake world, this automatic Host/Client server stuff
is already old-hat. But for racing, I guess these are still pretty new
questions. But I'll say this- racing at Watkins Glenn last night, I
had more adrenaline and more intensity in that one race than in all
the best games of Q2 I ever played put together. My heart sounded like
I was running a sprint for most of the middle of the race.

And I say that admitting that at this point I am a better Q2 player.

I am very surprised to learn that this is possible with GPL.  If you
find out how this fellow did this, or can get me contact info for him,
please let me know!
