I was not able to reinstall the software with my TM Sprint after
installing Directx 7.0. Anyone else with a Sprint Wheel try it?

Hello Jack

I also have a TM Sprint, and installed DX7 last night.  I've found my
Sprint calibrating software still intact under the Properties button of
Game Controllers.  Also, the Thrustmaster ProPanel is not affected
either and my wheel works fine in all my sims.  Are you sure you don't
just need a recalibration within whichever sim you are running?

The box said "Windows 95 or better", so I installed LINUX!

Could be!  I had an interesting experience with the DX7 & my V3 3000 AGP the
first night.  I had just installed the DX7, rebooted, and spent about half an
hour running N3 to make sure all was well.  I exited out, and my desktop was
such a blurry mess, I could hardly see my mouse pointer to click the start
button & reboot!  Also, had 3 crashes to desktop from N3, *never* had them
before.  I played with the idea of using a program to remove DX, but first I
set the clock speed back to 166Mhz from the 180 it was set at.  My N3 crash
problem is now gone, as attested to with about 2 hours straight racing online
last night.  Be patient & work with it, you'll get things tweaked OK.
