Use this free utility to increase the sensitivity and to
decrease the dead zone:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/~stickworks/ctfjv320.zip

CTFJ features improved scaling and deadzone routines and
expanded scaling methods over those provided with Windows
as well as providing Gain and Range adjustments that allow
you tailor your joystick reponse for optimum results with
any game or simulation.

Hi ppls, I have a problem with my direct input on my new Microsoft
FF wheel. After calibrating the wheel in windows I have to turn the
wheel in this game 3 times as much to get a response that is same in
other racing games and it seems that my pedals are on or off at a touch.

Thanks,
Todd.

If this thing works, it'll just about be the find of the century, Ed. Am
D/Ling it now, and can't wait to try it. Think about it, so many games that
were absolute junk before will now be enjoyable. I can't wait to play CPR
the way I've always imagined it should be. I can't wait to re-install F1RS,
MGPRS and X-Car. (he he)

That is what it does? Doesn't it?

How is it that we've never heard of this utility before?  Is CTFJ new to the
web or has it been available for some time?
