Can anyone tell me if they have noticed an AI car starting a race with a
poor setup and at the first caution coming into the pits and trying to
correct their handling problems and if so did their handling improve or
have any good handling cars setups gone bad after a pit stop? Do the AI
cars start a race with same handling that they would finish with?

Do the Pit Max and Min only refer to green flag laps or will the leaders
pit under caution earlier than the minimum setting say after 50-60 miles
of racing. I would like to change these numbers to make more realistic
but I won't change if a car is going to pit under green for no reason.

Thanx.

The AI cars do have the way "their car is working" adjusted at each
pit stop to account for the chance of a bad set of tires, or to
account for the crew making an adjustment to the car... I've never
noticed this in the actual gameplay, but I have noticed it in the
sourcecode... :-)

I have, Jim. It's not unusual to see the lead change after a round of pit
stops as one car will get a little better and one a little worse. Makes the
race a lot more interesting than just seeing the same car lead the entire
time.

The AI cars do improve or have performance decreases after pits stops.
Great touch by the design team IMH.

The AI cars will pit under yellow when most feasable.  I don't know of
the real percentage into a run that they pit under yellow but they will
pit under the min pit value if a yellow comes out.
