I've had GPL since the day after it was first released as a demo on the
net (I was a bit slow!) and I have only ever managed to get under 1:10
(at GP level in the Lotus) on two occasions, and even then it was only
*just* under 1:10.

If you are managing 1:09's after only a week, you have nothing to worry
about at all, (except jealous rivalry?)

I think the current Internet record is in the 1:06 area? but believe me
1:09 is pretty damn good anyway.

Well Im no where near the fastest around with a 1:06.63 but I did a 20 lap
stint today the first was a 108 and all the rest were 107's except for the
last 2 before the crash which were both in the 106's. Everytime I try to see
how far I can go the same thing happens by about 10 laps I get very bored
and it just turns into hotlapping untill I crash.

One person is in the high 1.05s actually Pete! And knowing him, he has a string of
replays down to around 1.05.5 ready to fire to http://gpl.gamestats.com/
should anyone get any ideas. LOL.

Check out http://gpl.gamestats.com/  in the FastLap contest section.

and 1:10 with a keyboard is just incredible (<g> you fingers must REALLY
hurt). Probably the best lap you can find, wow that's seriously impressive
for a keyboard driver.

Sorry  for the confusion it was not with the keyboard, I mistook the
question. Although it is a wheel I made myself from an old joystick.

I sent my replay into gamestats, but the fast lap page has not been updated
for over a month. I would say by now the top 10 are within half a second of
each other from 1:05.98 to around 1:06.50
