Ok I bought the game. But now I have 2 questions before I return it.

1) How the hell do you get all the cars and tracks? I only see a few cars
and 4 tracks. All of the hacks I have seen are for the demo.

2) what is with the small triangular graphics. It is not smooth at all
like the demo. The is using my12MB voodoo2 which worked fine in
the demo.

Thanks.

I think it was the e-mapping. I just turned on the Water reflections
and the graphics seemed like the demo.

Speaking of console-ish... GandTurismo gave you *WAY* more
cars to start. That is sort of what I was expecting, not 2... And I
might want to practice on *ANY* track not just 4. I did eventually
find the cheats you list below and have unlocked the tracks cars
and money :-)

I tried doing the DIrect 3D using my TNT 16MB AGP card. There were
black squares all over the place. Looked like a checker board. The Glide
version seems right though. Also I am using DirectX 6.0. I don' think the
game requires 6.1.

What DirectX are you using?

well I tried it mostly because of the new wheel. Also if the H2H modem
play is cool, my racin buddy and I can ditch NR1999 which requires DOS
for modem play.

See this website for great addons and editors, as well as the cheats allowing
access to all cars and tracks.

I really recommend going through the career mode to unlock them first, though -
it's a lot of fun.

As for small triangular graphics, you'll have to elaborate, but check your
graphics settings. Try turning off e-mapping, perhaps that's what you're
referring to - it can cause some weird looking stuff when on.

SCGT rewards you for doing good by giving you more and more stuff.
I think the element of being surprised is kind of neat, albeit sort of
console-ish. If you can't bear the suspense, there are cheats.

From the drivers screen, type:

isi-cheeseman

You'll get a brief message saying "cheats enabled".

From the season screen:

isi-tbone         all cars and tracks
isi-aadrvark    mega credits
isi-corsica       max out all parts

Hmmm. Not sure. Can't say that I've noticed it either on my V2 or TnT.
There are about 3 graphics option toggles. I noticed kind of a funky
pop-up on the car textures in replays, but not during the game.
Could be the mip-mapping setting. Since I don't really spend time
watching replays, I haven't fiddled with it yet.

I think it's one of the freshest, fun to play sim/games to come around
in a long time. It also has a rather open architecture, and there are
quite a few new cars and***pits coming out.

I couldn't imagine returning it.

That's a glitch that appears when you run textures on max with e-mapping also.
Either turning off e-mapping or leaving it on and reducing textures to high (my
choice-better framerate as well) will make the goofy holographic effect go
away.  And the demo did it also.

Cheers,

Thanks I'll try that. What is e-mapping anyway? I tried looking in the
docs and saw nothing about it.

The documentation does leave a lot to be desired.  For example; does ANYONE
know what CVMC is good for?  I doubt it.  As for e-mapping,  it apparently only
affects the look of the cars, and seems to control the way light reflects off
the car bodies.  They do look rather dull with it turned off.  I wonder if it's
just a Voodoo2 thing, or ALL cards show this effect.

I think its to put true environment reflections on the the cars.  If you
drive under a lamp post while driving at night, you'll see what I mean.
