Maybe im just wrong but it appears to be that image space (the company that
made SCGT) is not going to be doing anything with the PSX version, i guess
someone else will be porting it over or something which leads me to wonder
why a PSX video would be out before a PC when it will be ported after the
game is completed.

I dont know what Point of View Inc is, it could be the company porting SCGT
to the PSX?

If you look on the lower right hand corner in the video, you will see a
"Press Start" blinking...which means that is the PSX version video.

>The PC and PSX versions of SCGT are actually two entirely different games that
>happen to feature some of the same tracks and cars, marketed as the same

>called did the PSX version. The PSX game is noticably more arcadey than

Hi all -

I was the lead programmer on the PSX version of Sports Car GT.  Point
of View did the PSX version of SCGT. Some of POV.'s previous titles:
NFL Blitz (PC), Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Sega Saturn and PC) and Golden
Nugget (PSX), and Black Dawn (Sega Saturn) .

SCGT is not a port of the PC version.   There were some "shared"
rescorces between us and Image Space... Our team was able to to attend
all of the tracks used in the game.  After we were done modeling the
tracks, we were able to send our photographic resources to ISI.

In addition, the PSX sku features 3 additional "hidden" tracks that
are not available on PC.

As far as it being "arcady" goes, the physics/dynamics variables for
each car were just tweaked to reach the target audience for the PSX
sku.  The dynamics simulation run by the game is extremely complex and
could have been made much more realistic... if the publisher
(Westwood/E.A) so desired.

I also put together the movie that is used on the EA web site a few
months ago.  It contains actual shots of gameplay.  Unfortunately, the
codec used for the movie (Cinepak) is quite poor and much of the
richness of the game captures are lost.

Hope this clears up some informaton

Thanks for the information, finally get some lead developers on this news
group, just have to say, typical playstation game hehe (hidden tracks).  But
then again, if it is for psx, it should be targeted for that audience.
