The card will NOT do anything for N99.  There is a patch for GPL that
will allow your
card to run GPL but there are some mirror problems that drastically slow
down the
framerate when you drive inside the***pit.
However...You are in luck....The 3dfx based Voodoo2 cards will work along
side
your TNT based card.  Then N99 and GPL should run great.  So first make sure
you
have the latest drivers for your TNT.  Then plug in a V2 and off you go...

GPL and the Viper V550

Hello!

Thanks for all of your help in choosing a decent computer for GPL and other
applications/games.

I built a computer that is 400MH, 128 RAM, 13 gig hard drive, and I bought the
Diamond Viper V550 AGP graphics card.  Half Life kicks ***with this card,
along with TOCA.  But the GPL demo that came with N1999 does not produce 3 d
graphics with the Viper cars.

I was wondering if the full blown version of GPL supports the Viper V550.  I
also would like to know if NASCAR 1999 Edition would run 3d graphics with the
Viper.  If not, which card would you recommend to purchase to get these greate
games running?  I bought a Monster Fusion...but took it back because off all
the problems that I had installing/configuring it.  Thanks for the help!

Same advice here, or another choice is the new Voodoo3.  The cheaper route
is going to be the Voodoo2 probably, search the newsgroups and you'll see a
lot of Voodoo2 owners are upgrading to Voodoo3, and selling their cards
pretty cheap.  I've seen them go for around $50-$75, and they can be had new
for about $129 retail, less at online retailers.

Either will run both GPL and N1999 very well on that system, a very close
match to mine.
