ETCC Evolution released

An updated version of RSR's mod has been released.  A few added features
in the launcher, a few physics tweeks using real world data and some
graphic updates...a Great mod made just that much better.
note:  F1RST2 now only supports the new ETCC Evo mod, not the original
v1.15.

Well, I'm using bittorrent to dload the new SCC mod and it's using about
1/6th of my cable's dload capacity.    I average now over 250kbs with a
good host and with bittorrent, I'm getting approximentally 50kbs.
BT is not jumping up and exciting me yet.

(not you Eldred hehe)
I can post the update (about 150 meg) on a binary group if there's a need.

As in all things, "it depends" on a number of factors.  The more popular the
download the faster it'll be.  If you hit a peak you'll get fast download
if not it will be slow.

Is the SCC mod complete?

Thanks for the offer Alan but give me a day or two to see if I can grab it
without resorting to the binary group.

I snagged the SCC BT this evening, and it ran at ~1.3MB.

Took longer for Shareaza to assemble the files, and for Norton to ***on
them, than to actually download them.

Ok, thanks dave, that's what I thought too, I'm getting the SCC torrent
now, I think it would be a VERY good idea to create a torrent out of the
ETCC mod, maybe the people who have already downloaded it could start one ?

I'm getting it right now from f1rst2 at 4.8k but since the dl has been
interrupted several times so far I'm quite pessimistic about the end
result, file will be corrupted I'm afraid.

I don't understand why the groups releasing mods are still bothering to
set servers which are hammered by us poor idiots when the thing is
released, a torrent system for the first 2-3 weeks would be perfect and
THEN you could host the thing for the people waking up late....

I'm sure that the SCC servers are FAR less buried in traffic right now
with their torrent option...

Yes, as Mitch posted part of it depends on popularity.  Another thing
though is if you are behind a firewall and don't open up some ports
relevant to BT your speeds won't be as good as they could be.  I'm using
BitTornado and when the circle is 'green' and the torrent is popular, I
can get some crazy download speeds.

It's not all that often, though, because I mostly download races which
aren't really mainstream downloads.
