Did anyone see Zonta give the crane operation the finger???
Ha!!! The crane operator did not rearend schumacher and
the crane operator also did not blow up his piece of shit F1
car. Zonta certainly has no right giving anyone the finger after
his "masterful" drive today. IMHO of course :-)

And what can you say about the prost team? The one car
should not have attempted the pass, and the other car
should not have chopped his teammate like that. What else
do you expect from Alesi??? Both of the prost drivers suck
again... IMHO :-)

yep, i'm french and really disapointed by this team.
But i don't agree with you on Alesi point. He doesn't sucks.....
He is one of the top 5 best drivers in the F1 but he is so unlucky
and he has a quite bad car.
Peugeot is very good in Rally (BTW, just win today in NZ) but is not
good in F1.
I'm really waiting for the return of Renault in 2002. They will be in the top 3
in their first season.

It's one thing to boot Schumacher off the track, it's another to get let
down by you engine.

Then if someone, to add insult to injury, nearly runs you over with a
converted JCB (them marshalls had a history too, in second free practise
they lifted a car while the driver was still getting out!!) it's easy to
lose once temper. But why flip him off? -I don't get it.

I guess simply being a F1 driver, (even a back marker) gives
someone that right to flip anyone off for anything :-)

Alesi's passing of Wurz was terrific, even if he didn't pass because he
braked too late, but the way Jean throws his car around and controls it, is
still a terrific joy to watch.
I have to agree with you that he's been very unlucky, he deserves better.

Sadly he had better (ferrarri and Benetton). Now he is in the twilight
of his career.

I user to like Alesi when he first came on the scene. Everyone
talked big about him. But he was a total bust as far as I am
concerned. Kind of like Ricardo Patrasse (sp?)

Eventually I realized that he wasn't that hot and other teams
apparently feel the same. Now he is a back marker on a
back marker team.

The main reason I don't like him is that he is overly agressive
(kind of like Paul Tracy) and would rather crash into you than
give up a corner. Drivers like that are total ahole's IMHO.
Just let the corner go and over take the car in the next lap
if you can :-)

It seemd to me that the crane operator knocked his thingie against Zontas
helmet.
Something flew away from Alesis car, so IMO he couldn't brake more efficiently.
He is too experienced to make such a mistake. After the last race incident Alain
should be a bit frustrated.

Only my point of view

Alesi is 36, as is Johnny Herbert.  Being "too old for F1" definitely
depends on the driver, their fitness, and most importantly their
motivation.  Times have certainly changed, but Fangio won his last world
championship at 46.  During the 1960s, Ken Miles was one of the kings of
the sports car world while in his mid-40s.  Damon Hill, who got a
relatively late start in the sport retired at the end of last year at the
age of 39, but he clearly looked like he was more than done.  In recent
years, the oldest champions have been Nigel Mansell in 1992 at 39 and
Alain Prost in 1993 at 38.

Zonta retired on lap 59.  Did you watch the Speedvision or Fox Sports telecast?
My tape of the Speedvision telecast was just static because of a power outage.
The Fox telecast, at least the one aired on Sunday, did show the incident.
Sometimes they edit it down for replays during the week, I believe.
