N3, How to select my car in Multiplayer. (once more please)

I know this has been asked before, and I thought it was pretty
straight forward.  If I select the t_player car, from the drop down
list, I don't get my car.  I get 147 or something, and it doesn't have
my paint job.    Do I need to copy my car from the N3 directory, to
the N3/cars directory?
Thanks,
Andy

Make the name of your car file different than any of the one's in the
cars directory. If your car file replaces a car that is in the drop
down menu or in the cars directory, you may see other people driving
your car (online)
Do not add your car to the drop down list. Instead, type the name of
your car file where the drop down list is. (ie: "andy" for andy.car)
Your car file and ALL car files SHOULD be in the cars directory, NOT
the main N3 directory.

I am not sure it is worth the bother. I doubt that everyone else
in your online race would see your car anyway. I believe that
they all would have to have a copy of your car file on their PC.
