Ended up with 11 humans and the
rest of the field of 43 AI's. Seemed to work pretty well as far as
performance from all accounts except:
We had yellows on and we had all manner of problems with black flags. Of
course at Dega you get plenty of
practice running under yellow :) One time kept getting the "stay behind
the pace car" message for the 3 laps
of yellow...all the while sitting in 6th place well behind the pace and
then got black flagged. Every yellow
brought lineup sorting problems.
Then to add insult to injury, I pitted to serve my undeserved penalty
and apparently the computer did not
accept that and DQ'd me at the end. My 1st 43rd place finish!
Another thing that was bad was that the AI cars would appear to get
stuck somewhere and not close up
under yellow. So on one restart ofter serving my bogus black flag, I
ended up starting 28 seconds behind
the leader as the green flag fell. Also noticed the green is given later
that we are used too...lots of jumping.
Had a good race at Lowes. It looks good at night. Liked the lighted dash
gauges too! Ran well till someone
wrecked in front and I had to drive into the smoke...it's effective...
Things missing we've gotten used to on TEN:
The arena area needs some work that others have mentioned like
automatically showing the ping times, chat,
showing who's in the race.
There is no set time for practice. So it's left up to the host to say
go.
Had to take a break in the middle to run a OSCAR league race on TEN.
N3's more fun to drive, but so
far N2/TEN is better to race on the net.
We'll see what this evening's adventures brings!
See you on a virtual track somewhere.
