No FIA License for Ubisoft?

No FIA License for Ubisoft?

by F1Filt » Fri, 07 Aug 1998 04:00:00

I have noticed on both Ubi's F1RS and the Unofficial F1RS sites, that there is
no mention of a secured FIA license for the upcoming successor to F1RS.

Apparently they have managed to get a license to use the Monaco Grand Prix name
in their sim, but that seems to be it.  However, they claim that almost
everything (cars, tracks, drivers) can be edited.  Is this Ubi's way of getting
around the FIA license agreement for their new sim?

If the above is true. I think it would be only a day or so after the release
date, that we would be seeing carsets available for download.

I read quite some info in a *** mag about F1RS2. Maybe I'll post a
little
summary later.

One thing struck me: you may be able to "modify" the menus. Geez, maybe
we'll
get some usefull user interface into this one?? ;^)
