I'm just curious, but can anyone beat a 242.85 MPH lap on the old
papyrus indy 500 sim. What car is it, mine was the buick

Me, me, me! :)  Without looking at the files, I believe my fastest was a
243.10 with an average 4-lap qualifying speed of 241.85.  It was probably the
Buick - it's so long since I've played it...

Years ago now I managed a 37.26s lap, which is 241.55mph, on a
friends Amiga.
He managed a 37.00s, which is 243.24mph.  Sorry.
I think it was with the Buick, it's the blue on IIRC.
After many months of using the yellow car (Penkse?) in the belief
that it was the best one till seeing a lap time, set with the Buick,
published in a magazine that was far better than anything we had
achieved.

It's the red car.  On the Amiga version, I hit 37.00 several times over
the years until finally doing a lap at 36.99.  I have the screen showing
the lap time on videotape, but I only have a 37.00 lap itself on video.
(Used to plug the color composite from the Amiga 1000 into the VCR and
review my driving or a game's animation, and then decided to record my
record laps for posterity/proof.)
