What are ya'lls times here at Richmond. The best lap I have been able to lay
down with the fast setup is 22.325. On the open servers, there were guys
going almost 2 seconds faster.

Practising this week I've been averaging mid to high 22's with the
occassional low 22 in there.  During this weeks race, I expect that I'll be
running low 23's

If the times are that quick it is very likely that they had some
of the aids turned on and were probably running toned down
qualifying setups.
Was just playing around with the un-official patched version. I wish
I could remember my times with the unpatched but they escape me
at the moment but here were some numbers I got.
Cup cars 21.9's, GNS cars 21.9 with the expert setup and TA 20.8
with a setup close to the Busch car. These were done with only some
steering assistance turned on.
With the new expert setups being available I hope that Rascar considers
using them once the patch is released. Most of them are very good.

I dont feel too bad now. The best lap was around 5 or 6 and then it just
fell off from there. Looks like track position is going to be key here too
as passing may be hazzardous to yo health. I did seem to be able to run
another line but there is one turn that wants to swing the rear around if
you are off just a little bit.
It took a long time to get into sinc, but once you set a pace, it is kinda
fun. But, if that pace is slow, and you try to push it, then wham, here
comes the rear end.

Sounds familiar. But for the odd alien, things are looking close once again.

It's possible to pass. It'll take you at least 3/4 of a lap and both drivers
need to be on top of their game, but it's possible. Steve Claeys and I
swapped positions a couple of times during a battle for 4th position lasting
for 76 laps of green flag running last Tuesday. Next morning I was vividly

Pushing is bad on all fronts... it's all about driving it as fast as it
wants to go. Use your stuff, but don't use it up.

Grub and I just finished a race online.  Keep an eye on whats going on, and
everyone should be fine.  Watch the car in front of you coming out of the
turns.  Will give you good warning if he's going to spin.  As Jan said,
passing is possible, but takes both drivers to be aware.
Mitch, or dave.  Don't forget about the max lat problem with the server.  I
really want to race:o)

Steve

This is what happens if you get interrupted typing up a usenet message..

I meant to say "next moring I was vividly reminded why ***agers routinely
beat 30-somethings at any activity involving any kind of physical exertion",
but I needed to respond to some mundane, daily living question and forgot
about finishing the sentence. I guess I should be glad my loved ones keep me
from losing touch with reality completely, but on the other hand it irks me
that I'm made to look a fool for having to decide if I want to take a 0.5l
or a 1.5l thermos flask of Earl Gray tea to work in the morning. I mean, who
<bleep>ing cares about the amount of Earl Gray tea available to them nn a
Saturday morning shift (especially as I've, historically, taken 0.5l on
Saturdays for over the past 3 years)? -All that matters is the racing,
right? <g>
