Man, that upgrade I did to go to an ATX motherboard just paid off.
This card is pretty long. Almost as long as my Creative Labs Awe32.
Due to having to put the monster near the video card, I hope all of
you non-atx motherboard users don't mind moving your cards around.
You will probably need to if you have one of the Awe cards. Hardware
installation is a breeze. Relatively straightforward. Before
installing my monster 3d 2, I removed the monster 3d from my computer
by using the "add or remove program" under control panel. ( I found
no instructions for us who already had the original monster on what to
do, and wanted to avoid any conflicts). Then, I went to the "system"
icon in control panel and went under devices tab, and deleted the
monster 3d. Original hardware removal completed, and new installation
done, then put cd for monster in and upon startup and detection of new
device tell it to go to X:\win95 (where x is your drive). The monster
3d 2 directions say X:\drivers, but it is wrong. After installing
this, I think that was when it prompted me to restart computer. I
did, and then you must go under system and devices again and then
select monster 2. Select properties, then under driver tab, you have
to change driver. Select have disk and do the X:\win95 again.
Restart computer and there you are!!!!!! Relatively easy. Now to
start testing on games. BTW, go to Tom's hardware page
(www.tomshardware.com) for how to maximize the settings for your card.
