In case you didn't know, you can ride along with the driver of your
choice and see how they pull off those 6's at the 'Glen, etc.

Just run several laps at the track of your choice with the AI.
Press <F2> to get into replay mode.
Rewind to the beginning of the session.
Change the driver on the left to one of the AI drivers.
Change the view on the right to "In Car".
Play the session, watch and learn!

Forgive me if you already knew this :)

Yes, I was surprised no one had mentioned this before. I've watched full races
after crashing out on the first lap! I've found it to be a great help to look
at the AI drivers shift points and the gears they use through certain turns.
Thanks Papy, you've done it again!

This works with GP2, and a few other ones. Great fun to just sick back
and watch a race too...

You can also watch the whole race via "live feed" and use various camera
angles.

Start a race, then press <Escape> to retire. This gets you back to the
"Weekend Race Menu" where you can watch the live feed.

I noticed that hitting the V key while practicing, my car is stopped or in
the pits,  seems to allow you to switch
to the different cars that are in the grid, while they are doing their laps.
Very helpful for seeing their line
and gear selection.

Michael

Another nice thing with the replay is at tracks with some time before
turn 1 after the S/F line I pause it when I cross the line watch the
replay to where I cross the line and I have my lap time without having
to go around again, this maybe nice at longer circuits other than the
Nurburgring where they were kind enough to tell us our time soon after
we complete our lap.
It maybe a bit of an interuption, but if you just gave it your all it's
nice to know it was really your all.
