Codemasters TOCA Joystick Problem

by Kevin W. Mahon » Wed, 14 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Can anyone help a beginner with the following problem?

I am using an InterAct PC Power Pad Pro game pad with joystick (six
button). When I first set up game pad in Windows 95, as a 4 button game
pad, everything worked fine. When I then set it up using the driver
provided, whilst all the tests and calibrations in Windows and the game
pad's own test software work fine, in the game programme no joystick
movement is recognized.Problem - even when a revert to the 4 button
setting I cannot get the joystick to work now!

InterAct figure it is a Codemasters software problem. Codemasters
support have simply advised to delete and reinstall the driver in the
Windows control panel (which appears to make no difference whatsoever)

Where am I going wrong????

FYI PC= Pentium 200, 32mb RAM. Thrustmaster gamecard.

Thanks

Just a few things to double check.

Is you soundcard's gameport disabled?

Under the resources for your Thrustmaster gamecard do you have the first
Input/Ouput Range set to 201-201?

As a shot in the dark, try using Thrustmaster's ProPanel applet.  Make
sure you set it up as device ID 1.  First select none for the device and
then try several different 4 button devices.

You can get ProPanel at
ftp://208.129.210.78/pub/library/propanel.exe
