NEW DASH FOR ICR2/CART RACING!!

The Sim Project now has available for download Beta-1 of its WSC Dash!
This is the start of the WSC patch series, and we're happy to introduce
you to the very first (of hopefully many) modified dashes for ICR2/CAR
Racing!

New to the sim is a working analog tachometer, against a carbon-fibre
dash.  More updates, including enhanced digital readout (gotta' have
it!) and other images, to follow shortly.  Thanks to Rob Buis and Klaus
H?rbrand for the needed info and tools!  =)

The patch contains a couple of batch-files for the images, and you have
your choice of downloads:

 1) ICR2/CART Racing 2D Version: For Regular ICR2

 2) ICR2/CART Racing 3D Version: For Rendition ICR2

Both are available for download at The Sim Project:

 http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Have fun with the files...More to follow shortly.  =)

Cheers!

Marc

Ah ha!  I guess you also didn't notice that it's for an upcoming
WSC patch...BTW, they don't have roofs.  ;)

Seriously, Some of us at TSP have been throwing a few other ideas
around, and several had suggested F1***pits, as well as updated
CART dashes.  We'll see...

BTW, I only did the art...none of this would have been possible
without Rob and Klaus working on the code.  =)

Cheers!

Great news!!! Please gimme a Ferrari 333SP!!

Please, oh please keep workin on an wsc patch:))

Is it possible to create a paintkit for these patches? How about new
sounds? We will definitely need a nice V12 sound, as well as a rumbling
V8 for the Ford/Aurora engines...anyone made a good V8 sound yet?

Matt,
Can't wait!:)

No seriously Marc,
Of course i made a fool of myself... I was thinking of the Gr.C set and
assumed the dash was made for it... Had i thought of or paid enough
attention to the text and gotten the WSC bit.. I wouldnt be writing this
now.. :))

Keep up the good work!

Hook, line and sinker.  ;)

Hey, I really appreciate the response over this carset!  I have fun
messing with the sim to begin with, and anything I can help contribute
to *your* enjoyment is enough satisfaction for me.  =)

I'll do my best...I have a lot of friends helping me!

Cheers!

I wish !!! I have a tape that I made a Laguna Seca in 1992 of the Mazda
Works RX792 GTP car both in the pits Idling (wup wup wup wup) and at
speed. Trouble is that I recorded it with a boom box so sound quality is
worse than bad and secondly that the other cars in the back ground make
it impossible to isolate the Mazda sound. Also the idle is so lumpy that
it just didn't work (in the sim) at speed. The sound of that 4 rotor
engine at 10 grand is almost like a high reving V-12...absolutely
beautyful !!! Right now I'm using Marc's F-1 engine sound that I shifted
the pitch up. Sounds like an F-1 V10 reving about 26,000 RPM. Not a
Mazda but close enough.

Man you are makin' me drool. Those flame-ups are great !!! Trouble is
that all the cars (in ICR2) would have to do the same. Maybe an all
Mazda series ???? Well it's a nice thought but I know the guys at TSP
have their hands full just doing the WSC dash so I'll be content just to
get that.

Interesting! Well, I'd guess it would actually be possible to drop one
of the Downing people a note, and tell them what we are up to. I'm sure
they would find us a prime noise source....Or, I could try and see if I
could sneak into their pits at Le Mans in June and ask. I easily got
into the R&S garage two years ago, snapped pics till my camera was
glowing!
I know the Downing guys are real enthusiasts, so I am crossing my
fingers:)

Yep, I really look forward to getting those goodies from TSP. If I could
find the time to understand how to paint those (eventual wsc) cars, I'd
have a ball!:))
