I am thinking of purchasing the above title plus also the tilt-sensitive
game controller (MS Sidewinder Pro??). Any comments on the above
combination? Will it be any more realistic than a joystick? I certainly
couldn't use a steering wheel to ride the Honda in Castrol Honda SB, but
found using the joystick hard work. I also have Motocross Madness, and are
thinking that the Sidewinder Pro may make that game a little easier to play.
What controller are the majority of people using with EA Superbikes?
Comments, please.
Most importantly has anyone had any problems caused by DirectX 6 (required
by EA Superbikes!?) on any games, especially GPL? If there is problems after
installing DirectX 6, is there a way to uninstall and go back to previous
version of DirectX? I mean an easy way! :)
I know there are a few questions here, but I would really appreciate some
advice from some experts. TIA.

The digital input isn't as intuitve as a good analogue joystick. Go for the
Sidewinder Precision Pro USB joystick. Works great with Motocorss Madness as
well.

Im very happy with the Sidewinder Force Feedback Joysticks, the effects are
very helpful, you feel the bike work, brakout, slide, shift and so on. The
stick is very precise too.

I think the MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro (USB) is one of the nicest controllers
that I ever plugged into my pc. The tilting works great with Superbike, although
I prefer to use the buttons for accelerating and braking. And the two big
buttons on the front are just begging to be used for shifting gears!

IMHO: yes.

I use Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle Pro (tiltable, no FF) for SBK with
these controls:

tilt left-right         = steer (surprise!)
tilt backwards          = accelerate, analogue input (not on/off) is essential
for controlled cornering (similar to twisting the throttle)
tilt forwards           = brake

right index finger button = shift up
left index finger button = shift down

Haven't tried a joystick. Didn't like my TM wheel. The only gripe in
this MS controller is that it's VERY sensitive.

Don't have GPL installed. No problems otherwise either.

Hi Rob, I uses a wheel (TSW) but reduced the deadzone (dinput.dll)
to 2%, works great!
