Dont worry
All will be back to normal in a few days.
Then we can continue to race GPL and wait for WSC
Thomas
The newness will wear off soon and then people will realize that for all
the hype, it's not all that much of an improvement over N3. Yes, the
physics engine is now GPL-like, but on an oval, who cares? When do you
use trail braking at Daytona? Who cares about shift points at Atlanta?
And Bristol has got to be one of the most boring tracks in existance
(except for Martinsville).
BTW, the graphics of Sears Point are disappointing in N4 compared with
N2/N99/N3. And the elevation changes somehow seem to have been muted.
Plus of course it's that bastardized version of Sears, which is a shadow
of the original course.
I got N4 so I could start figuring out how to import all those great GPL
tracks into the game, so we could have something that approximates to a
Trans Am simulator.

Get a life, Vintook. I have all the other Papyrus products and I like
NASCAR. I was commenting on the hype surrounding the inclusion of the GPL
engine. The capability to flip a car doesn't make it a gift from the gods.
And they didn't include an in-race save, something for those of us who have
a life.

bye, buster33
The general physics of just driving the car are far and beyond better than
anything in N3.

I'm not saying that N4 doesn't have all these new physics, I'm just saying
that it's a bit wasted on the ovals. For the more casual player (and that is
all I am representing here, not the Ph.D. types), running Daytona in N4
isn't a revolutionary change from running it in N3 using the demo handed out
at the track last year. Yes, it looks prettier, and there is more "feel" to
it, but it's not something completely new.
And my big gripe is the lack of in-race saves. I have a friend who so looked
forward to this game, but he was crushed to find out that there wasn't a
save. He loves to run the full length races, and using N3 he would run them
a bit here and there, since he has a wife and kids and all that. With N4
there is no way he can do that.
I guess I was really just bummed out that a feature that was patched into N2
and was there for N3 and N99 didn't make it into N4. That's such a shame.
Sorry if it was starting to sound personal, Vintook. Have a virtual Miller
Lite on me over at Rusty's courtesy tent. Watch out for Penske, though.
He'll have you buying stock in his company. He's quite a salesman!
BTW, I will be down at Daytona again this year. I was there last year when
Bodine put his truck up into the catch fencing. Luckily we were over at the
pit entrance, but it looked pretty scary from there, too.
