EA NSR Demo - Graphics Question

I have an Athlon 2600 system with a Radeon 9700 Pro.  Although I set my
game resolution to 800x600 16 bit (the minimum choice), and lowered many
of my graphics settings in-game, my opening framerate at the start of a
race (at Kansas -- haven't tried Indy yet) is a miserable 27.  It hovers
in the mid to low 30's after that.

I figure that I must have some setting wrong.  I'd be curious to learn
what settings someone with a similar system to mine is using and what
type of frame rates they're getting.

Two more things -- I'm not sure if the 3Dconfig thing is working
properly.  Before I first ran the demo, I ran thru 3Dconfig OK.  It
showed the triangles at 50M at a resolution of 1024x768 16 bit.  When I
saw how bad the framerate was, I re-ran it at 800x16 16 bit, but the
"Analyze" feature didn't come up with a result - Zero triangles.  So
maybe I _am_ still running at 1024x768 -- who knows?

Finally, is there an in-game setting where you can choose whether to
runn AA and/or AF graphic settings?

Thanks!
