Couple of Act Labs Force RS questions

by Kendt Eklu » Mon, 16 Feb 2004 17:17:36

Everyone here has probably heard about AL reducing the steering
resolution significantly in the new RS wheels.  I'm wondering if
anyone has tried the old PC engine module in the new wheels, and if it
gives the high-resolution steering back.
I just finished rebuilding the spring mechanism in my RS shifter
again, and I'm wondering when something's going to give out in the
wheel.  If I can just plug my old RS engine (serial/USB version) into
the new wheels, then great - otherwise I've got to find an old wheel
soon!
Also - has anything been re-engineered in the newer shifters, or does
anyone have a recommendation for an improved shifter spring material?
My shifter springs eventually break at the concentrated stress point,
and I've only got so much spring left to re-bend!

TIA!

Couple of Act Labs Force RS questions

Have tried a v2.2, v2.1 and a serial cart in both a ForceRS and non-FF RS, all
worked fine.  And AL used to have a program where you could exchange the serial
carts for a USB one, so there really should be no problems in using the older
cart in the newer wheel.  Oh, and the v2.1 gave the same resolution in both wheels.

No idea about the shifter.
