Oh sugar plum fairies. This ferking Grand Prix Manager game I bought
for Xmas.

FIRST) it says I must play in 256 colour mode - WHEN I'M RUNNING 64k
colours!!! It won't let me play until I've changed down a mode. That
is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying.

SECOND) it GPFs consistently whenever I select a team logo (and press
OK) or review the drivers under Options/Configure (and press OK). Of
course, I could be wrong about the menu option because I can't get it
to run for long enough to explore much.

****, ****, ****!!!!

Roughly translates to "Dung, Compost, Poop!!!!" And I was chuffed to
be able to get a game before our US friends too... d8-))

Same problem here. Had to***around for a good 15 minutes picking
all the possible setups for my video card. Seems the only one that works is the
slowest as far as display is concerned. Any reason WHY this game was not
written for DOS???

Don't be so quick to blame software. I've put the game through it's
paces and it works fine. I'd take a good look at Win95 first...

snippity snip

I agree Stuart, I haven't had any of those sort of problems with
Win 3.11, but there are a few other annoying traits I have come
across:

1- As soon as cars start race, announcing somebody has broken lap
record (without doing a lap?)

2- In qualifying or testing, 1 car staying right behind another
car, and posting a time 3 or 4 seconds different.

3- Car sometimes pits during race stops, but doesn't give the
option of re-fueling or new tyres (extremely annoying if you are
doing unusually well!)

4- Racing with sound means a lot of CD Rom access and tends to slow
things down (although this is only a dual speed CD Rom I am using)

But saying that I still stand by what I said before about this
being a totally ***ive game, it just seems a pity that a little
more testing wasn't done before release (mind you then we would
have a GP2 situation:-()

PS: How is anybody else doing? I seem to make plenty of money but
do pathetically in most races (unless I get lucky)

Regards

Adrian

I have noticed most of the things you mentioned, but just save your
game a lot!

I am near the end of the second season of racing...finished 1st and
3rd in year one and running 1st and 3rd in the second. Also, make sure
you use the "aquire" technology button between every race. Testing and
wing angles are very important.

Have fun.

I'm running it under 3.1;

This -till now- didn't happen to me; but i get messages announcing
lap records like "Johnny Herbert set new lap record to 3.55643222e..."

right; very irritating. Just like best lap-time in a race beeing from
the first round (not too propable, with a standing start...

this always forces me to finishing the game immediately.

other way around: i do well (with Benneton), but money keeps running
through my fingers.

some things that annoy me: sponsor advisors that advise me to
concentrate on firms that have alreadyinvested in my team and won't
increase the budget even if i make first and second place at Mte
Carlo;

High paid technicians that sometimes have no idea what they can do to
improve my cars

annoyingly slow interface

my cars *never* pass another car, even if its 2-3 secs/lap slower;

setting the sliders in a race to "more risk", "fuel no problem" or
"tires no problem" does *not* affect the laptimes or the performance

and, i'm sure, some other nuisances.

all in all, this game is a nice idea, but the realisation is only par
to "Elite II Frontier"
