Just ran a multiplayer race on the LAN here at work, and I was wondering
about something... my coworker qualified 25th, I qualified 11th. On the
pace lap, he passed about a dozen cars before the green (he was
alongisde me when the pace car pulled off the track).

He got no black flag, no warning to stay back, nothing. Is this normal?

Ask him if he *stopped* his car during the pace lap.  AFAIK, this
allows one to pull-ahead to the front and not be penalized.

Thanks... That's probably what he did.

Did the person that was in 11th slam on the brakes just as the green flag
was a go and then maybe wreck and and quit allowing the whole other side to
pass? This would have caused the program not to realize that the race was
beginning to start.
Hope it helps

Yes, I have seen some crazy things people try to do at the start of a race
really mess things up.

I was the driver in 11th, and I did slow down, but I didn't stop or
crash... We're coming out of turn 4, and i get the "get ready, we're
going green" from the spotter, so I eased up and let the car in front of
me (in 9th) get about four lengths ahead... I was gonna punch it right
after the pace car pulled off, but that's when I saw the 25th place guy
going by me on the left. He passed by, and went  all the way to the
front before the green even waved.

You did not crash and quit? You know the other wins if this happens.

The flag proably already dropped. You really cant try weird things in
NASCAR. You should probably play fair.
