Need help converting old indy track to nascar and indycar II

I have the indy.dat file (for the track) on my hard drive.  I have since
removed the original indycar game from my hard drive.  When I use the
converters it asks me for the location of my original indycar game.  I
provide the location of the indy.dat file and then attempt to convert.  
However, the computer just sits there.  Can someone explain what I am
doing wrong???  Thanks...

The converter looks for a TRACKS\INDY subdirectory of you Indycar 1
directory. Make sure you put the Indy.dat file into the
C:\INDYCAR\TRACKS\INDY path.
