The closest thing to a Porsche sim right now is Need For Speed. You can
race
a Porsche 911.

Yes, exactly like a true 911's tail has for 30 years.  Need For Speed is
an excellent arcade racing game full of Porches, Ferraris, etc.!  It is
loads of fun to weave in and out of traffic and outrun cops in that
tail-happy Porsche!  Try it.

There is some kind of Porshe racing game coming out...BUT it's by Sony
for the playstation. Here's what i got from Next generation<nov.96>
It's called Porshe Challenge, they got an official license from
Porshce which allowed for an "accurate representation of the boxstre,
both in terms of look and performance".The game includes Porshes' test
track in Stuttgart and "24 other circuits, split into 5 different
courses". According to NG sony has stated that there will be a 2
player split screen option....well, that's pretty much the sum of it.
The screen shots look good <light sourcing is very impressive>

Hope this helps

Test Drive 2 "The Duel" has both the Porsche 959 and a RUF 911
Turbo in it's list of cars. This is a pretty old piece of software and
it looks pretty sad (EGA graphics) by today's standards, but you did
ask for ANY Porsche (is this spelled right??) sim.
Now it's my turn... :)   I'm sure I remember seeing a auto sim
like test drive that had the Buick Grand National in it's selection of
cars. This would be real old (late 80's) software, possibly a C-64 or
Atari 800 program. Has anyone heard of this one?

Check out one of those Sony Playstation magazines: I saw a preview of a
simulator around the new Porsche spider. Graphics looked _great_, so it will
definitely interest you.

 Marc:
A fiendly piece of addvice.  If you love Porsche I wouldn't get your hopes up about NFS.
It's the Carrera2 not the Turbo.  Personally I don't like being passed by Supra's when I driving a
Porsche.  It just dosn't feel right.
I do still think that NFS is the best non race track sim you can buy.  Hard to believe it
first came out on the 3DO well over a year ago.

My favorite Porsche 911 Sim is: My Pickup. Cornering on dirt roads in
Arizona simulates the famous "911 power oversteer" quite well. Of course,
with the truck it's easier to gather it back up. Kidding aside, Didn't
Accolade make a street driving sim, with which, you could drive Corvettes,
Porsche's etc...? Was it any good?

Screamers can't possibly be called a sim.  Do you even drive?
