And the sooner other retailers follow the EB lead, the sooner they can stop
whinging about EB!

Here in Canberra there are three EB outlets and two remaining "small
business" games outlets. These two still whine about EB yet they will NOT
adpt EB's policy on returns.

And they wonder why they lose business! Jee-zuz!

Well, it appears to have been around for at least a century-and-a-half.
It's derivation is English and was apparently a colloquialism for "damned".
Quite why Aussies use it as frequently as we do I don't know. Probably
because it's easier to throw a few "***y's" into a paragraph than to think
of different adjectives!! Ha!

Just an educated guess from some of the posts here back when F1 2000 "went
warez".

No. What I do say is that you can understand why people do it. That
doesn't mean I condone it, far from it - I understand why people
vandalise certain government buildings, but that's not the same as
thinking it should be made legal.

To clarify: I've *never* downloaded warez - in fact, I doubt I've used
a copied game since 8-bit cassette days - and don't intend to start
now. Even if I had no EB, that would be the same - I'd just complain.

True Dave, though back in the old days "patches" weren't as common.

I just believe thinking GP3 won't ever need a patch, is silly....

It was a somewhat flippant example, but I mean things like daubing
anti-war slogans on the Defence Ministry if you think your country's
involved in an unjust war.

I don't know the French site, but the UK one is here:

http://www.eb.uk.com

<snip>

Well, yes, they *could*. But *most* people aren't that dishonest.
After all, they *could* also all d/l the warez version and ignore the
shop altogether.
