Where can I find a describtion what the variety of setup things actually
change, i.e. why would I change tire pressure etc.

I know that this is probably a stupid question for you *** sim-guys,
but for the layman like me ?

Also, does anyone have a good Monaco setup for the Ferrari ?

thx
Wolfgang

Try Blackhole Motorsports setup guide, its a pretty extensive troubleshooting
type guide that adds to the info supplied by the GPL strategy guide.

I always need more traction at one end of the car or the other so I usually
start by softening settings and lowering ride height.  I like my brake bias a
little more to the front than the default settings.   If you run across Eagle
Woman's setups she gives some real-life engineer reasoning to her work.

Excellent choice, all that midrange power!  Go soft and low with stiff rollbars
and keep the brake bias rearward so you can keep those fronts rolling in those
low speed corners.  Watch the hotshoe replays and don't be too proud to keep it
in first gear.  For a ton of GPL links to downloadable setups try the excellent
Turn 1 at http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Happy Motoring

After many months of dedication I have concluded that extra tyre
pressure makes the tyres harder, and less tyre pressure makes them
softer. You owe me one, ok?

Understood so far. But pumping up the rear left tire makes which tyre
harder?  ;-)
