These two don't work anymore, but the Nunnini and Alison sites should
be enough :)

Actually your experiance in setting up an RC car will help you alot once you
figure out what all those adjustments do.  Since the laws of physics are the
same all over...and GPL has very advanced physics...the way the RC car behaves
translates directly to how the car in GPL will respond to the same change (ie.
stiffer springs and the car responds quicker).  Just an observation of a long
time RC/Slotcar racer who drives racing sims :)

Of course:

RC-cars are fun, but I'm more in RC-planes ;-)

I hear that!  Jumped out of R/C cars the moment I messed with an ARF years ago.  Now
I fly everything from combat gliders to ducted-fan.  Mucho fun!  =)

Cheers!

I'm thinking of getting into RC planes & Heli, but too bad I don't have my
own vehicles, so it's too troublesome to bring this 2 kinds of kits out and
fly. It's more practical for me to play RC cars only. :)

Absolutely.

Hopefully my DB spitfire will be gracing the skies next summer, If I can
find another 100 hours from somewhere :-)

Hehe.  Helicopters are interesting, especially whey you are new at it.

1.  Buy a kit.
2.  Build it.
3.  Go fly it.
4.  It becomes a kit again.
5.  Build it again.
6.  Repeat from step 3.

:)

All RC hobbies require responsibility, especially Aircraft, but no RC hobby
requires more responsibility than RC Helicopters.

When you get good at it and don't "Re-Kit" very often, it is also one of the
most fulfilling and satisfying accomplishments ever.

Especially if you were/are a 1/4 scale RC racer.

The big cars (3 feet long!), the weedwhacker motors, the big tires, the
realism...  Oh, my...

:)

The only thing I miss about San Diego :(

I was a Helicopter Jockey myself, but dabbled in planes as well.

I preferred their 'mechanical' nature, and the fact that it didn't take 6
months to build one (well, except for that Bell 222 with retracts that took
me 2 years :) )

A great way to develop hand eye co-ordination that's for sure. I believe
that Maestro Senna was pretty handy with a heli.

Me, I'm a confirmed fixed wing ***. Maybe this equates to me being a F3
ace as well <G>
