fps in nascar 2002??

by Alexander Markin » Sun, 24 Nov 2002 19:12:20

Hello guys,

What fps can I expect in Nascar 2002 on a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz, 512 mb rimm
, asus v8460 geforce 4 with 40.72 drivers? I only get between 23 infull
race with everything on and +40 when driving alone. To turn options down
doesn't seem to help much. Also not going down from 1024 resolution to
800. What othet settings for this video card are there?
Thanks in advance

Alexander.

You should be getting better than that.  I would first turn off vertical
sync on your video card options.  In the game or the card, try turning off
antiscopic (sp?) filtering.  That is a big framerate killer as well.

Maybe your using D3d rasterizer?  Check 3D setup and select OpenGL at
1152x864x16 (personal preference) then be sure desktop is 16bit prior to
N2k2 launch.  Also in Opengl properties be sure v-sync is off as well as
anistropic filtering.  I use Quincinox AA (sp?) and I can get up to 60+fps
alone and 50+ in traffic.  One other note, I have better luck with the Omega
drivers than the Nvidia (especially 40.xx)

It sounds like you have anistropic filtering turned on.  Turn it off!

Also, if you are using anti-aliasing, it kills frame rate in most cases.
