Would that be because you have smoke turned off? <G>
Or better yet, share your tweaks so others can experience the same
thing.

I surely do hope GP3 lives up to the hype. I hate to think about the
increased suicide rate if it doesn't. :-)

Don't bother then, it's up to you!
However, I think you'll find that turning down detail like smoke is pretty
normal to get any sim (GPL, GP2, etc.) running acceptably to suit your
system. Stating the obvious, but there is always a trade off with detail and
frame rate - it is up to you how you deal with it.

Never had it so good? I am still playing GP2 because there is not
another F1 sim around that is worth spending 80 or 90 dollars on. As for
GPL, it does not incorporate recent championships.
I will not have enough until I get GP3!!

Before you buy.
Well, with AI races I wouldn't really care, but online it might be a useful
clue about where the guy ahead of you is consistently overdriving the car.
But I imagine this kind of information isn't passed down the pipe anyway,
which would be a shame (the computer I have used for GPL was never potent
enough to display smoke in online races, so I really don't know what it
does). I guess I've just found a little experiment to do tonight... does
GPL properly display the smoke from your (online) competitors' tires?

You can also see what kind of brakebias is used by the other drivers,
if you watch them during qualify. People where the rearwheels lock
first should be avoided, and people where the frontwheels lock very
easy could be outbraked.
The overdriving part is only used when you really know the driver
who's locking wheels....
