Please Set your way-back machine. Core.ini for GPL with a V5 5500 Help Please!

by btgos » Tue, 25 Sep 2001 23:56:35

Hello All.
With the passing of my Geforce 2 I am forced to use my V5 5500 , until I can
convince the wife that my life will not be complete without a Geforce 3.
Until such time, when pigs fly...and an overcoat is needed in hell, I need
help with this card.
Would anyone have their core.ini optimized for the V5 5500, or know which
bits I would have to set? I did a search on the web, and with groups.google,
and returned a bunch of dead links.
Any help anyone can give would be great.
Thanks,
btgoss member of the Geforce Challenged.

1. First Look for the Smiley (glide) Patch
2. download & install

Run in Glide. (does not need any core.ini settings)

hth,

Joachim

Joachim, bt,

I believe there *are* core.ini issues to deal with...such as the frame rate
you want in your mirrors.  You can have them refreshed every frame, every
other frame, or every third frame.  The first is unneccesarily wasteful of
resources, the last is choppy.  I use every other frame.  I believe there
are some other tweaks, but they may be from either the display panel or a
3rd party Glide util.  I don't have my racing 'puta fired up ATM, but if you
need further advice, let me know and I will copy & paste to my next post.

As Jason Monds points out above, it's the Glide.ini file I wuz thinking of,
not the core.ini.

Don't forget you can't use the high-res***pits, tracks, wheels, etc.,
that you could with your GF2 card!  This means a fresh install of GPL
probably (if you used them).
