I read a post here that talked about having installed an update for GP2.
I have checked the MicroProse Website and a number of other sources - no
update found.

Is there an update?  If so, where can it be found?

There's no official GP2 update yet (Microprose you lazy b....  AArhhemmm)
But have a look at
