One day they will pull there finger's out and give us a real sim.
One day they will pull there finger's out and give us a real sim.
Thanks for that insight.
Strange, but I do have an incredibly realistic sim on my PC. It's
called GP2. I assume that you haven't actually got it or haven't
bothered to look beyond the opening screen.

I cannot remember who it was, but know it was a few weeks back and on
this group. They said that the day Damon Hill and the like hit this
group and say it is unrealistic, that is the day it is :))
Having never driven an F1 car and only seen them from trackside and on
the T.V. - the game looks pretty realistic to me
I love it

Oh yes the "famous" update is on its way. It would be nice of them to actually
tell this of course.

Is there a bug list for GP2? I don't know how I have managed to play
this bugged to hell game for so many hours, and still not have any
of the bugs create any problems. The sim hasn't even crashed on me
yet.
Considering the fact that this 'unfinished' beta is professionally
presented, runs great, simulates F1 well enough for Jacque Villenueve
to practice with and is a damn site better than *many* other completed
games on the market - I'm never going to buy a finished game again!
Finishing a game wrecks it completely.

Please don't take this too personally, but I find the original post in
this thread & your response to be all too indicative of the sad state
of this newsgroup. Why, oh why, do so many people here seem to believe
that they have a right to demand whatever they want? We have a number
of excellent simulators on the market. If people stopped whining for 5
minutes, they might even start to enjoy them.
GP2 cannot be a beta. It is sitting on computer store shelves across
the world. By definition that makes it a release product. It's your
choice whether to buy it or not.
Perhaps you could substantiate your "bugged to hell" claim. There are
a number of minor bugs, but none of them actually affect the gameplay
in any appreciable manner and IMHO it is one of the least buggy
programs that I've purchased in the last 2 years.
I'm sure we would all have preferred GP2 to have wet weather & network
support, but that doesn't mean that the game isn't finished. it just
means that a commercial decision was made to release the product
without them. You pays your money & you takes your choice.
I'll believe this when I see it. Other than an unsubstantiated post in
this newsgroup, I have seen no evidence whatsoever that there will be
an update.

Here, here Richard! GP2 in the best game I have EVER played. It's
too cheap as well! I got 29.99 worth of pleasure within the first
week of getting it.
Some people are just never happy :-)

Is there going to be a update ?

Okay, we can start whining.
Most of the top league guys can take 1-2 seconds per lap off the
computer cars in a race...
Cheers!

Are you going to be there at Hockenheim?
Cheers,
Richard (who can only whine during hotlapping & qualifying <g>)
Yeah. But we would all like to see weather and network restored wouldnt we?

I'm gonna try. I have a couple of good setups, and that usually goads me
into doing a race. Hockenheim is a bit boring however, and time is
really tight.
I'll do my best, but TI and Jerez for sure!
Cheers!
John
