GP2 update???

by jdaniel » Fri, 20 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I heard there will be an official GP2 update from microprose. All the
1996 cars and drivers willbe included. Also the "new" tracks (Melbourne,
Argentina and Nurnbergring). Does anyone know when this update will be
released?

No one has mentioned the new tracks and cars being included in the
patch. From what I have heard/read, all the patch does is allow the
turning off of car textures, correct modem problems(probably make gp2
use16550 default {should have been first time!!!}) and allow 4 player
network play. NO OTHER FEATURES HAVE YET BEEN MENTIONED!!! The supposed
release date is "Early in the new year" but going on past record, "2001
is a new year isn't it!!"

Scott

If there are new tracks, it certainly wont just be a patch. It's
something that will cost us but I'd gladly pay for a track pack.

Yeah, but is this true at all? Last I heard the patch was some
unofficial thing, which basically consisted of utilities scooped off
the net, without the authors getting paid a peanut.

No update is planned, I posted a couple of days ago a reply from
Microprose dated 2-Jan-97. Here it is again.
