I keep hearing about a new PC racing sim called "Le Mans 24" or something of
this sort, which is scheduled for release this November, but I don't know
anything more about it, i.e. by who or what it's all about. The most
pressing question on my mind is whether there's a 100-percent race distance
feature on it - just what I always wanted: 24 hours of uninterrupted
racing - ouch, my poor eyes!
So if anyone out there can provide me with some info, or maybe even a
website that has screenshotsn or reviews of it, it'd be more than thankful.

Especially if you crash after 22 hours or so....

hehe - that's a little extreme huh <BG> it could be very cool if they
included an option for computer/real teammates to drive in shifts like they
do - can't imagine anyone actually being able to RACE 24 hours straight even
on a computer sim... could be wild tho'

It looks like February 2000 has been posted for it's new release date.
24 hour races can be done in parts by saving the game state at pit stops.
There was some early concern that there would be no***pit view, we may see
a bonnet view though.
Everything I've seen so far points to it being a Playstation game first
ported to the PC.
Andi.

SCGT has the AI codriver feature now, and with 155 real world cars
available in a huge/massive/reallyreallybig download created by
Gunslinger.(just don't use netscape to dload the sp 3.0)

In the 1950s, someone (I think it was Stirling Moss) drove about 23,5 out
of 24 hours at Le Mans. And he won. So, it IS possible....

I think one guy designed and built his own car. He then tried to do the
entire race alone.

He lead for somthing like 23hrs 40mins and then crashed through fatigue!

poor bloke!

Actually Marc..... he did a lot better than that.... :)

In 1950 Louis Rosier drove his Talbot Lago to victory... driving almost all
of the 2153.121 miles himself.......... His team-mate Jean-Louise Rosier
drove *ONE* lap!

He also managed to average 89.71 mph over the 24 hours, whilch was a new
record!

Not bad - eh? :)

Wow.  His concentration, not to mention his bladder, is a lot stronger than
mine!

I think it was Pierre Leveigh who almost made it NOT Stirling Moss.
The year was 1954.
In 1955 Pierre was hired by Mercedes to drive at Lemans.
Unfortunately, he collided with a slower car on the Pit straight,

82 spectators....
