On a different tangent, I was thinking it would be fun if everyone who
loves GPL were to coordinate their efforts and each send a check for
$10.00 along with a letter explaining it was a deposit for the new
GPL2 and how e***d you were about the new {fill in the blank}
feature. It would really confuse the hell out of them and possibly
spur them into an updated release. If we could all reach a concensus
on a short list of most desireable additions/improvements to the game
(track editor, carsets, expanded fast laps list, better OpenGL
support, etc.) that we could tout as our "hot button" features, they
might budget some time to implement as long as they were relatively
simple and feasible. Suddenly finding themselves with six or seven
thousand dollars in checks for a product they've essentially abandoned
might make 'em think about backfilling it with any new features
they've added for the engine port to N4.
