Hardware = better GPL rank? (Full screen this msg pls.)

The "Record for Hardware?" posted earlier got me thinking about this,
again. This is parts of some notes i've put together:

Interesting correlation between my laptimes and hardware improvements
and their effect on my GPLRank. Below is a list of my GPL rank history over
a relatively short period of time where I did some system upgrades. All of
this has been done w/ the same install of windows and GPL, same HD, and yes
I have a full time job keeping me away from this black hole called GPL.

Date              Handicap                   Hardware
2000-11-07     -0.87              C300a oc'd 450, V3-3k
2000-11-28     -6.51              PIII-550, V3-3k
2000-12-20     -10.17            PIII-700, V3-3k  <--- 19"Monitor
2001-01-01     -12.45            PIII-700, Radeon 64DDR <---  Only a few
tracks raced so far

Even though all the aboves systems ran at 36fps after the race started, i
noticed the biggest improvement when the 700mhz chip was dropped in. My
ability to catch a slide before it was too late was drastically improved and
after the cusl2 board and radeon card it all came together to where i am
actually finishing races without spinning for the first time in 2 years.
BTW Im not saying that the improvement of hardware is the sole reason for my
improvements in GPL and GPLRank, but I do know that they are a BIG part of
it, FOR ME.

  See ya on the track!
