ICR patch question.

by John Schuel » Fri, 19 Jul 1996 04:00:00

Hi, I just got ICR 2 about a month ago, and found this group about 2 weeks
ago, so I don't know too much about what's going on. When people talk about
the patch, they say it's a version 1.00 to 1.02 upgrade. When I start up
ICR, it tells me I've got version 1.97. Can someone let me know what's up
and whether or not I need the patch?

Thanks.

That's the version of the DOS 32bit game shell, not ICR2 version number...

I assume you have the DOS only version of the game, which is version
1.00 -- the DOS/Win95/Mac version is 1.01.  The 1.97 you see refers to
the 32-bit DOS extender that is required to run ICR2 (DOS/4GW).

I recommend getting the icr100_2.exe patch.  It doesn't make the
game/sim perfect, but it improves things alot.  Hopefully Papyrus/Sierra
On-Line is still at work to fix the few remaining headaches for us
serious race sim'mers.
