Greg Moore spun out of turn 2 early on in the race at Fontana, hit the inside
grass, flipped, and slammed into the wall while airborne.  The car was
disentigrated and proceeded to roll over a few more times.  Moore was
transported to the hospital about 15 or so minutes ago.  Dr. Steve Olevy of the
CART medical staff says Moore has severe or life-threatening head and internal
injuries.  Recucitative work has been done to him with little success so far as
of 15 minutes ago.  Waiting for updates on his condition.  I'm praying for
him...

A very sad day.  We should all take a moment of silence in rememberance of
both Greg Moore, the young rookie and the motorracing fans who died this
year.

Since I am Canadian, Moore has always been a sentimental favourite of mine,
and he will truly be missed....if only that lady in the truck had hit him a
little harder....

Greg Moore died just past 1pm. In all likely hood,he was dead when they
removed him from the car.

My sincerest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and to all of
his race fans who will miss him dearly.

May he rest in peace.

I was thinking the same thing.....that a bit worse injury would've kept him
out of the race, and thus saved his life.

He will be missed.....

:-(

A very sad year - Moore, Gonzalez, and the fans at C***te - and the fans
at Michigan last year.  Eight deaths in CART / IRL races in the last 18
months - let's hope that Greg's is the last we hear about, in these or ANY
motorsports, for a long, long time to come.

I can't see "Spoiler" there....say if we would get that race next week from
TV, so according to some guys here at NG, you should of put "spoiler" in the
topic, instead of _actual_ happening...

I don't mean that I don't want to know this(I knew it already), this is more
like _same_ thing some ppl were whining of F1 news, that they recorded it
and planned to watch it later, but some
"moron" posted results here without spoiler. What I'm trying to say, that
you did exactly same thing(posted spoiler without "spoiler" in topic), but
no one is calling you moron...it's not right...;P

Consider this post as sarcasm towards other ppl than you. ;)

PS. Greg "99" Moore was my Favourite driver in CART (since Indy Lights) and
my happy sunday(Mika F1 Champion) was "clowded" when I heard about
this...(his death) :(

Regardless of your opinion on Greg Moore, this is without the dumbest thing
I have ever heard.  Get a grip....this is not a race result, but the death
of a person.

Don't become a patronizing little shit Marko, it doesn't suit you. I voiced
an opinion. Some agreed and others did not. I do not need you or anyone else
to keep pouring fuel on a dying fire. End of story.

As a Vegeserver regular you should know better than to go on usenet when you
don't want a (recorded) race spoiled. Or whine about spoiler notation for
that matter.

Dave read Marko's post again...all of it. At the end he states that he's
being sarcastic. Not towards Dan or anyone that posted in the thread but to
the people that were upset yesterday when the F1 results were posted and
those that taped the race and hadn't seen it yet were upset.
