I bought a $7 game card hoping to improve my GP1 performance, but
couldn't get the computer to recognize that the GP1 or Joystick was
hooked up to it. Are there any drivers, such as there is for a mouse,
for game cards???

I am going to assume that you had a joystick port in you machine before
you installed the game card. If so, you either need to remove it or
disable it. You have two devices fighting for the same I/O address.
Until you do so neither port may work at all.

Yes - many game cards do have TSRs or drivers. /THansen
